So 2013 is gone, and already we are already looking to what 2014 has to offer. Super Smash Bros Wii U, Halo 5 and Infamous Second Son are just a few of the games people are looking forward to. Before we get there however we’ll have a look at games you may have been missed last year worth your time.
Ni No Kuni
This early 2013 release was a game that deserved to be played by every Playstation 3 owner. This is JRPG gaming at its absolute finest. It looks amazing. I would go as far to say that Ni No Kuni is one of the best looking games of 2013. The game also has a heart warming story that will absolutely hook you. And the game play has tiny little bit of Pokemon mixed in there as well. This is a great game for both hardcore JRPG fans and gamers who are new to RPG’s. As an added bonus at the time of writing it’s on sale on PSN!
Gone Home is a game that received great critical acclaim, but for some reason many people have still not played it. The game is an adventure game where you play the role of a young woman called Kaitlin who has returned home to find her whole family missing, and a mysterious note from her sister asking her not to look for her. This is just a great game that has you playing because you really want to unravel the mystery. This has kind of a feel of the classic game Myst, and the game just compels you to keep on playing.
Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons
Playstation 3 | Xbox 360 | PC
This was another game that received critical acclaim, but it really deserved to get much higher sales than it did. This is a fantastic story driven puzzle game. The real twist here is that you control two brothers at once. Each brother is independently controlled by an analogue stick. The game is very story driven and has some really tricky puzzles. This was one of the best games released on the Xbox Live Arcade and PSN in 2013.
Double Dragon Trilogy
If there is any justice this great compilation will be released on consoles in 2014, but for now this great anthology is only on the iPad and iPhone. This game features all three arcade versions of Double Dragon. And while they have the arcade versions they have also added a new story mode. Where each level you beat will give you some background information on the game. The game plays surprisingly well with a virtual dpad. If you are an old school gamer, then Double Dragon Trilogy was one of the gems that was released in 2013.
