South Park: The Stick of Truth censored in Britain, the birthplace of humour

Surely this has to be a first, something censored in the UK but not censored in the USA? I can’t recall any other time it has happened off the top of my head anyway!

So apparently the UK joins the ranks of ridiculous censorship alongside Australia, the Middle East and the rest of the sensitive peoples of Europe. Unfortunately there’s not really much we can do about this as it’s done by Ubisoft rather than any regulatory body. I say that, personally I’ll be looking into a way to purchase the uncensored version just because hey censor jerks, the internet exists. Do one *grabs nuts* [Actually I’ll probably just grab the PC version, where this censorship doesn’t exist]

It looks like the censorship is pretty minimal overall, 7×20 second scenes but as South Park itself has pointed out you only need to get one thing censored before the castle crumbles to the ground in censorship requests. The cut scenes contain

a mini-game in which the doctor is performing an abortion on the player, a mini-game in which the player is performing an abortion on the character Randy, [and] five anal probing scenes involving someone actively being probed. The scenes play out as normal before and after the active probing sequences

I get why you may be opposed to seeing things like this but come on, it’s a SOUTH PARK game you idiots. Really?! This is tame!

The game launches on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on March 7. Grab it here if you can’t resist, even with the missing scenes: South Park: The Stick of Truth

Or on Steam (PC)!
